Sydney Vegan Festival is excited to announce more acts to its already amazing line up!
Sydney Vegan Festival today announced its second round of acts to appear at the inaugural event on 29 March 2014 at the Factory Theatre, Marrickville, including live music headed up by Australian hip hop artist, CHANCE WATERS.
CHANCE WATERS, a Triple J favourite, WATERS is an Australian hip hop artist known for his songs ‘Maybe Tomorrow’, ‘Young & Dumb’ and new single, ‘Bonnie’. WATERS is also an active vegan and animal rights supporter.
BRENDEN MACLEAN, Australian pop songwriter with songs ‘Stupid’ and ‘Winner’ showcasing an amazing craft for quirky lyricism and surprising melodies.
LЁURA, Sydney based artist recently released her aptly titled EP, ‘Brutal, Broken, Unspoken’ featuring lush soundscapes and emotionally charged lyrics.
CAITLIN HARNETT, up-and-coming local acoustic singer-songwriter, HARNETT’s music harks back early 70s folk combined with country twangs. She will play from her new album, out in March 2014.
KYM STATON, singer, songwriter and performer with an eclectic range spanning blues, folk, jazz and celtic, STATON is also highly involved and well-regarded in the local Sydney vegan scene.
RUBY HAMAD, self-described as ‘Vegan. Feminist. Writer. In that order’, HAMAD is a popular writer for Sydney Morning Herald’s Daily Life, and author of ‘Defiant Daughters: 21 Women on Art, Activism and Animals and The Sexual Politics of Meat’.
ANDRE SICKINGER (aka the SURFERS’ CHEF), will speak on his experiences as chef for some of the world’s best surfers and promoting a plant-based, natural diet for athletes.
FIONA HALAR, Sydney based nutritionist who prescribes wholefood diets to clients will discuss the nutritional benefits of a vegan diet.
